Managing Restore Points
A Restore Point on the CNA-8000 is a snapshot of the CNA-8000 server files including
all configuration files, all zipped up into a tar file. Restore Points can be initiated
manually whenever you want and will not negatively affect normal operations at the time
of initiation. Restore Points can and should be used whenever a major change is about to
take place, such as make a significant configuration change or when the software level is
being changed. Note that the CNA-8000 normally makes a Restore Point automatically
when upgrading software through the Update Software interface. It should also be noted
that software upgrades initiated from the Visara eManager product, will automatically
create a Restore Point prior to the software upgrade. Having a Restore Point allows you
to restore the software version and configuration back to a previous instance. Multiple
Restore Points may be created and stored for an indefinite period of time.
To create or use a Restore Point, select the [Restore Point] button from the Maintenance
Menu.
