Update Software from an FTP Server
This method makes use of a local FTP Server. To use this method the following
preconditions must be met:
The CNA-8000 is connected to a LAN with access to the FTP server.
If the FTP server uses a DNS name, you must have a valid IP address configured
in the Network Configuration for a DNS server
Any firewall that is in place between the CNA-8000 and the FTP server must
permit FTP operations to occur. (FTP requires port 21 to be enabled.)
You must have loaded the software update onto the FTP server.
To initiate the software update from the FTP server, press the ‘From FTP’ button. The
following panel will be presented to allow input of necessary information:
Field Definitions
FTP Server Address: Enter the IP address or DNS name (DNS must be configured in
the Network configuration).
FTP Directory: When connecting to an FTP server, you are placed into a root directory
determined by the FTP server administrator. If the root directory that you are in is not the
same as where the software update is located, you must configure the path to the proper
location for the update.
FTP Username: This is the user name that the FTP server you are connecting to
expects, to allow you to connect to the correct root directory.
FTP Password: Provide the password needed by the FTP server to provide
authorization to make the connection.
