Working With Perspectives
Perspectives define the initial set and layout of views in the Workbench window, providing a set of
functionality aimed at accomplishing a specific type of task or working with specific types of resources.
Switching Between Perspectives
Each perspective has an associated icon on the main toolbar. Switch between perspectives by clicking the
icons on the main toolbar. A list of available perspectives is shown in the section describing the
concept.
Opening Perspectives
Perspectives provide combinations of views and editors suited to performing a particular set of tasks. For
example, the Projects perspective is used to configure projects.
To open a new perspective:
1. Click the Open Perspective button (
) on the shortcut bar on the left side of the Workbench window
provides the same function as the Window → Open Perspective menu on the menu bar.)
2. To see a complete list of perspectives, select Other. . . from the drop-down menu.
3. Select the perspective to open.
When the perspective opens, the title bar of its window changes to display the name of the perspective.
Resetting Perspectives
To restore a perspective to its original layout, select Window → Reset Perspective on the menu bar and
click OK on the pop-up dialog.
