4.3 Systems
The term “System“ describes the combination of instrument settings,
time program and processing method which has been optimized for
a specific separating column and the determination to be carried out
with it. A system is used to start single determinations. Systems are
stored as system files ( *.smt ) in the Systems directory.
4.3.1 System window
A system window is opened with 792 BASIC IC / File / Open / System and
the selection of the desired system file. It contains icons for PC, Watch
window (screen) and 792 Basic IC, and two buttons to start and stop
a determination.
4.3.2 System file handling
The following menu items are used for opening, changing, saving and
closing of systems:
792 BASIC IC / File / Open / System
Load an existing system file ( *.smt ) from the Systems directory and open
the corresponding system window.
The directory and name of the opened system file are displayed in the
title bar of the system window. A star ( * ) at the end of the name indi-
cates that the system settings have been changed since the last sav-
ing.
SYSTEM / System / Change
Load a new system and open automatically the system window.
SYSTEM / System / Save
Save the current system settings in a system file ( *.smt ) in the Systems
directory.
SYSTEM / System / Close
Close the selected system.
