To register a user with external server authentication
A user can be registered when external server authentication is used.

Display the User Authentication screen for external server authentica-
tion.
– For details on displaying the User Authentication screen, refer to
“Specifying user authentication settings” on page 11-38.

Touch [General Set-
tings].
The General Settings
screen appears.

Select the authentication
system, and then touch
[Enter].
– To cancel changes to
the settings, touch
[Cancel].
– If the software switch
settings are specified
to synchronize exter-
nal server authenti-
cation and LDAP
authentication, se-
lect “Active Directory”. For details on the software switch settings,
refer to “Specifying software switch settings (machine functions)”
on page 11-50.
The User Authentication screen appears again.
