Reduced performance using Data in Flight Encryption
If Data in Flight Encryption is configured on the subnet, the system may experience decreased
performance. This is the expected behavior when using the IPsec protocol. View the network
configuration using the CLI net show config command to determine if Data in Flight is
configured; see the HP StoreOnce Backup system CLI Reference Guide.
Replacement of hardware
In the unlikely event that replacement hardware is required to be installed, please consult the
Maintenance and Service Guide on
information about BIOS and RAID battery problems.
Quick Restore ISO Image
A Quick Restore (QR) ISO image is available to re-image the software on a StoreOnce appliance
to a known good state. It is only used, under guidance by HP Support, in the unlikely event of a
node’s root file system becoming corrupted or lost; for example if multiple OS disk failures have
occurred.
Refer to the Maintenance and Service guide for your product for more information about
downloading the Quick Restore media.
CAUTION:
If you want to upgrade an existing HP StoreOnce installation, always use the software
update from
CAUTION:
The QR process will delete all stored data and configuration settings returning your
product to factory default settings.
However, for HP StoreOnce 6500 and B6200 Backup systems one failed node in a couplet can
be quick restored without data loss, if the system has failed over to the second node. You will need
physical access to the StoreOnce appliance to perform the update. Contact HP Support for advice.
IMPORTANT:
All nodes in a cluster of a StoreOnce 6500 and B6200 appliance must be running
the same software build. If using the QR ISO image, the image must be the same revision as the
current software. HP recommends that you create new QR media at system installation and whenever
the system software is updated.
CAUTION:
The QR process should only be done under the guidance of HP Support. It is not
expected to be required to be used during normal use and operation of the product.
