In order to increase the timeout:
1.

From the Start menu, click Run....

2.

Type regedit in the Open: field and click OK.

3.

Expand and locate the registry subtree as follows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \LanmanWorkstation \
Parameters

4.

Add a new REG_DWORD key with the name of SessTimeout.

5.

Set the timeout value. It is recommended to initially set the timeout value at 600 and then
change the value according to the situation of your machine.

6.

Reboot the client.

Power off and power on

There are no commands within the GUI to control the power on/off or reboot the appliance. All
the commands should be run from the StoreOnce CLI. See the Advanced troubleshooting chapter
in the HP StoreOnce Backup system user guide for your product for more information.

NFS State handle error

NOTE:

NetBIOS name resolution is not supported on CIFS shares.

The following sequence will cause problems when connecting to a NAS share.

1.

Create an NFS share and mount it on a Linux box.

2.

Delete the share on the StoreOnce Backup system without unmounting it from the Linux box.

3.

Recreate the share again with the same name.

In this scenario, the Linux client will assign a new set of inodes to the new share, but when trying
to access the old mount point it will use the previous set of inodes and will therefore not manage
to connect.

Reboot the host Linux system and the connection will work again.

If backup or replication fails

Backup fails

Check the system Events (at the bottom of the navigation tree). One reason for a backup failure is
that the system has reached 90% of storage capacity used. An alert is generated at 90% and at
each increase of 1%. When capacity reaches 99% full, the system becomes read-only.

HP also strongly recommends checking backup application error logs. There are a couple of things
that may result in errors:

Exceeding the maximum concurrent jobs

Exceeding the maximum number of concurrent open files for NAS

Exceeding the total number of files in a NAS share

Reconfiguring devices whilst backups are in progress

Deleting replication mappings

Refer to the HP StoreOnce Concepts and Configuration Guidelines for recommended and maximum
values.
