PSP
ProLiant Support Pack. HP software components that are bundled together and verified to work
with a particular operating system. An HP ProLiant Support Pack contains driver components,
agent components, and application and utility components. All these are verified to install together.
PSP dependency
script
An optional user-provided script that runs during a PSP deployment to a managed system.
PXE
Preboot Execution Environment. A standard client/server interface that enables networked
computers that are not yet installed with an operating system to be configured and booted
remotely. PXE booting is configured at the BIOS level.

RAM disk
A portion of RAM memory treated as a disk drive.
remote repository
A remote file system mounted on a CMS, that contains the repository contents.
repository
A directory containing HP ProLiant Support Packs, supported and custom operating system images,
the boot image, scripts, and the Firmware Update file.

ssh
A program to log in to another system over a network and execute commands on that system. It
also enables you to move files from one system to another, and it provides authentication and
secure communications over insecure channels.

A highly scalable, high-speed monitoring system. Supermon provides all required system statistics
to the Nagios subsystem. The data that Supermon collects, on a regular basis, includes system
performance sensor and environment data, such as fan, temperature, and power supply status.

virtual machine OS
An operating system written for a specific hardware platform that enables you to host a virtual
guest.
virtual media
Also known as remote virtual media, it is a method for presenting a remote storage device (for
example, a DVD, USB drive, or ISO image) to a local OS as if it were physically connected to
the OS. Virtual media allows a system to boot a (bootable) ISO image over the network in much
the same way that the image would be loaded from a CD, and without the use of PXE or DHCP.
