CTION

To open a timeline by dragging it from the Browser to the Timeline pane, proceed

as follows:

1.

Select the timeline to open in the Browser.

2.

Drag it from the Browser to the Timeline Display area.

3.

The following cases can occur:

If the timeline is compatible with the server configuration, go to step 4.

If the timeline you want to open contains a number of audio tracks and/or

channels other than the ones defined in the server configuration, you will
get the following message and will not be able to open the timeline:

“The timeline can not be put on-line. It is not compatible with the server

configuration.”

The following cases can occur:

If the timeline is stored on the local XT, goes to step 5.

If the timeline is stored on a distant XT, IPEdit will ask the following

question: “The timeline is not present on this XT. Do you want to copy
it?”:

a. Answer ‘Yes’ to copy to timeline locally. The Make a Timeline Online

dialog box opens.

b. In the dialog box, the local server will already be selected. In addition,

select the Copy Clips Locally check box and the type of copy (long or
short) by ticking the requested radio button if you want to copy the
timeline elements locally.

5.

The timeline opens in the Timeline Display area.

IELD

To open a timeline via the LSM ID field of the timeline, proceed as follows:

1.

Type the LSM ID of the timeline in the LSM ID field of the Timeline pane.

2.

Press ENTER.

The same checks are performed as when you drag a timeline from the Browser:

If the timeline is not compatible with the audio configuration of the local XT[2]

server, it will not open.

If the timeline is not on the local XT[2] server, you will be asked to make a local

copy of the timeline definition before the timeline is loaded.
