To add selected media from the Browser to the Timeline, proceed as follows:

1.

Filter the IPDirector Database to identify the media (clip, log or record train)

to be added to the timeline.

The media needs to be a loadable media, as explained in section “Loadable
Media”
, on page 11.

2.

In the Timeline pane, select the Insertion mode with the Insert/Overwrite

Global Mode icon

/

in the Edit Command bar.

3.

In the timeline loaded, do one of the following to define the insertion
position if you do not want to add the media on an element transition:

a. Position the nowline
b. Add a mark IN or mark OUT point

on the requested insertion position.

4.

In the Browser pane, select the media to add and drag it to the requested
position in the timeline.

All the tracks of the media are added from the IN point to the OUT point on the
requested position, i.e. a transition, the nowline, the mark IN or mark OUT point.
The mark IN of the media is matched to the selected position.

For more information on the track selection and the element position in the
timeline, refer to section 4.5.4 ‘Adding Media in Insert or Overwrite Using Drag-

and-Drop Actions’, on page 82.
