Start/Stop Contacts
The Motor Status logic element provides the operating status of the motor. It identifies the motor as
starting, running, or stopped. The status indicators are enable or disable elements as desired based on
the operation of the motor. The Motor Start Detection and Motor Stop Detection settings control how the
BE1-11m identifies when a motor is started and stopped.
Start Contact Needed
Current Only - In this mode, the BE1-11m recognizes the motor is starting when from a stopped condition
the current increases to greater than two times FLA.
Current and Contacts - In this mode, the BE1-11m recognizes the motor is starting when from a stopped
condition the current increases to greater than two times FLA and the Motor is Started logic input of the
Motor Status logic block becomes true.
Contacts Only - In this mode, the BE1-11m recognizes the motor is starting when the Motor is Started
logic input of the Motor Status logic block becomes true.
Stop Contact Needed
Current Only - In this mode, the BE1-11m recognizes the motor is stopped when the current drops to
zero.
Current and Contacts - In this mode, the BE1-11m recognizes the motor is stopped when the current
drops to zero and the Motor is Stopped logic input of the Motor Status logic block becomes true.
Contacts Only - In this mode, the BE1-11m recognizes the motor is stopped when the Motor is Stopped
logic input of the Motor Status logic block becomes true.
Settings
Motor configuration settings are configured on the Motor Configuration settings screen (Figure 238) in
BESTCOMSPlus. Setting ranges and defaults are summarized in Table 93.
