Support for 200 Watt Slots
In order to run the board in a 200 watt slot, the ATCA-7365 IPMC offers two ATCA power levels:
One with 200 watt and one with 260 watt. If the shelf manager selects the 200 Watt power
level, BIOS reduces the number of P-states (Performance states) for both CPUs in the ACPI table
to meet the 200 watt power dissipation requirement for this slot. When the Operating System
has booted and the board runs in 260 watt mode, the CPU frequency reaches up to 2.0 GHz. In
200 watt mode, the highest CPU frequency is 1.73 GHz.
The selected ATCA power level is displayed on the console at power up and after reset:
ATCA Power Level 1: 199.1 Watt - P-States Limited
or
ATCA Power Level 1: 259.1 Watt - No Power Limit
The state of the board regarding P-states and ATCA power level is also displayed in IPMI menu
of the BIOS setup.
4.10 LED Usage
BIOS uses LEDs U1, U2 and U3 on the front panel to indicate activity of start up progress.
In boot loader phase (PEI phase) U1 and U2 glow red, U3 is glowing alternately red, green and
orange.
When the board is plugged into a 200 watt slot, the board runs with reduced performance.
