Figure 3-2 outlines the basic features of the external mode trigger input
operation. In this case, the trigger is sent to the power module that has been
pre-programmed to respond in a particular fashion, such as setting an output
voltage level.
This is also the simplest mode as after setting up the condition, (shown as the
external arming event) the module simply waits for the trigger to be received
and then proceeds to set the output to previously established value(s)
possibly after a delay time. The external arming event encompasses the
receipt of a command sequence needed to setup the module prior to trigger
receipt.
