X330WAN allows for up to 20 concurrent active Policy lists on all of the interfaces.
You can set a Policy list per interface and per direction, meaning each interface can
have an ingress and egress active Policy list. On the FabricFastEthernet port, a
Policy list applies to all of the configured VLANs. A Policy list in X330WAN can
include QoS and Access Control rules.
In addition to the rules, each Policy list includes a DSCP-802.1p mapping table. You
can specify the Layer 2 Priority for forwarding the packet, based on the packet’s IP
header DSCP field. When no Policy rules are configured, or when the outcome of a
Policy rule is “permit”, the DSCP-802.1p mapping table is consulted to verify
whether the packet priority should be changed. In this case, you can configure
whether to use the mapping table and change the priority accordingly, or to leave
the original 802.1p priority (trust CoS).
The third element of the X330WAN Policy list is the Composite Operations Table,
illustrated in Figure 4.7. The Composite Operations Table defines the operations
applied to a packet, when the packet matches a Policy rule or a specific DSCP value.
The Policy rules action and the DSCP mapping table point to an entry in the
Composite Operations Table. The Composite Operations Table includes a default
list of all of the possible priority modification and Access Control actions. You can
create more entries in the Composite Operation Table using the X330WAN CLI
commands presented on page 50, and described in Chapter 6: X330WAN CLI
Commands. Each entry in the Composite Operation Table is composed of a
combination of different available Policy operations, such as Access Control,
Priority, and DSCP.
