24. There are three modes that each port can be configured for. The Master and Backup mode
are for communication networks that will participate in a Master/Backup configuration.
When configured as a Master/Backup, if the Master communications network should fail,
the Backup network assumes the Master role and provides the communication to the
controllers. The Backup Network would be a separate communications port in a second PC.
This is often referred to as a redundant system.
25. For the purposes of this class, we will be using the Standalone configuration. There will be
no backup. Click the Standalone selection and then click Next to continue.
