Front Face Configuration Lab Part 3 –
Module Configuration
5.1 Foreword
In Part 2 of the Front Face Configuration lab, we learned to modify part of the controller’s
database to suit or process application. In that lab we access the specific database
locations associated with the analog inputs span and zero, the control loop’s range, the
control loop’s setpoint limits, etc. To accomplish these changes it was necessary to know
the database locations these values are stored in. The purpose of this lab is to demonstrate
the procedure for modifying these values using the new menu system present in the design
level B controller.
5.2 Objectives
In this lab we will change the analog input’s span and zero, controller’s range and setpoint
limits, and set the alarm limits and the alarm index: After completing this lab, you should
know how to modify the settings of a single loop control strategy using the 53MC5000B
menu system.
