The following issues must be taken into consideration when editing VLAN IDs:

• The NATIVE VLAN cannot be deleted from the table and the attribute cannot be edited.
• All untagged/tagged packets arriving at the LAN port will be tagged (four byte VLAN “frame”

will be added) with the configured VLAN ID.

• If the port is in NATIVE mode, any packet arriving from the WAN that matches

this VLAN ID, will have the VLAN tag removed and passed out the Ethernet.

• If the port is in NATIVE mode and the packet does not match the PVID, the VLAN

table must be checked to determine if the packet should pass.

• If the port is set to TAGGED mode, then the VLAN table is referenced to determine

if the packet should pass.

To change the MNGMENT VLAN ID:

VLANID Attribute
0001 MNGMENT Add

• Use the bc arrow keys to switch from NATIVE to MNGMENT
• Press

ENTER

• Use the bc arrow keys to change the MANAGEMENT VLAN ID (on the bottom left of the

display).


The following issues must be taken into consideration:

• The Management VLAN cannot be deleted from the table and the attribute cannot be edited.
• Prompting occurs when editing or deleting an existing VLAN:

Select No or Yes using the ◄ ► arrow keys. Press

ENTER.

The Add menu is accessible from either the VLANID Attribute (NATIVE) or VLANID
Attribute (MNGMENT)
menus by pressing

ENTER

, then using the ◄ ► arrow keys. Once

Add is selected, Press

ENTER

once again.

If VLANID Attribute Æ Add is selected:

Adjust the VLAN ID Number by selecting the digit to be edited, using the ◄ ► arrow keys. The
value of the digit is then changed using the ▲ ▼ arrow keys.
