Configuring the Boot Drive
By default, the system boots from drive 0 on the 1x8 SAS backplane. The
order of boot devices is specified in the System Setup program. See "Using
the System Setup Program" on page 47.
Control Panel Assembly (Service-Only
Procedure)
Removing the Control Panel Assembly
The following procedure applies to either a rack or tower system. Figure 3-32
illustrates a control panel assembly in the rack orientation.
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You
should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your
product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and
support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered
by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the
product.
1 Remove the front bezel, if attached. See "Removing the Bezel" on
2 Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system
from the electrical outlet and peripherals.
3 Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 67.
