Using XModem to Upgrade the Management Software
The AT-S47 Management Software interface supports software
upgrades to the management module using XModem. It is assumed that
you have the required setup to support this type of file transfer. This
upgrade procedure can only be performed from a local management
session because the XModem transfer occurs through the multiplexer’s
RS-232 management port.
Note
To download an AT-S47 image file using the RS-232 management
port, select the “ats47_v1_0_tport.bin” file from the zip file posted
on the ATI web site.
Before you begin the upgrade, please note the following:
❑ This procedure assumes that you have already obtained the new
software image from our web site or FTP server and have stored
the image on the PC from which you will be performing the
procedure.
❑ Downloading new software does not interrupt the flow of traffic
through the multiplexer.
❑ The transfer protocol must be XModem or 1K XModem.
❑ The download password does not apply to upgrading the
management software through the RS-232 port.
❑ Downloading a new version of the management software does
not change the current settings on the management module.
To upgrade the multiplexer’s management software with XModem,
perform the following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, select Administration.
2. From the Administration Menu, select XModem software update to the
WDM02.
A warning message in Figure 28 is displayed.
