Displaying RLL Error Statistics
The Statistics Menu displays Run-length-limit (RLL) Errors. An RLL error is
a violation in the 8B/10B coding rules in which there are more than five
consecutive zeros in the data stream.
❑ Run-length-limit (RLL) Error (TX) occurs in the transmitting path
when data is transmitted from a local system.
❑ Run-length-limit (RLL) Error (RX) occurs in the receiving path
when data is transmitted from a remote system.
Note
The RLL Error statistics counters start to run when there is real traffic
on the GBIC ports. The maximum number for an RLL Error statistics
counter is 4,294,967,295. Once a counter reaches the maximum, it
starts over again at 1.
Note
Normally, when there is a good communication between the
channels, no RLL errors should occur.
To view the channel statistics, perform the following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, select Statistics.
The Statistics Menu is displayed in Figure 14.
