SET CONSOLE
Syntax
set console [timeout=seconds]
[speed=2400|4800|9600|19200]
Parameters
timeout
Specifies the console timer. The range is 0 to 32767
minutes. The default is 5.
speed
Specifies the baud rate of the RS232 port on the
management module. The default is 9600 bps.
Description
This command sets the console timer. The management software
automatically ends a local or Telnet management session if it does not
detect any activity from the local or remote management station after
the specified period of time set by the console timer. This security
feature can prevent unauthorized individuals from using your
management station should you step away from your system while
configuring a multiplexer.
Note
Specifying a value of 0 for the console timer disables this feature, in
which case the multiplexer will never time out a management
session. If you do disable the feature, you must always remember to
properly quit from a management session when you are finished.
Failure to do so may prevent you from being able to start another
management session in the future on the multiplexer.
This command can also be used to set the speed of the RS232 console
port.
Example
The following command sets the console timer to twenty minutes.
set console timeout=20
The following command sets the baud rate on the console port to
19200 bps:
set console speed=19200
