Pinging a Remote System
The procedure in this section tests whether a valid link exists between
the multiplexer and another network device. This can be useful in
situations where a communication problem exists between the two
devices. The multiplexer sends an Internet Control Message Protocol
(ICMP) echo request to the end node. If the node is operating and
receives the request, it sends a reply to the multiplexer.
To instruct the multiplexer to ping a remote system, perform the
following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, select Administration.
The Administration Menu in Figure 9 is displayed.

2. From the Administration Menu, select Ping a remote system.
The Ping menu in Figure 10 is displayed.
