Local Management Session
You establish a local management session with an AT-WD1008
multiplexer using the RS-232 port on the AT-WDM02 Management
Module.
Once the session is started, you will see a menu from which you can
make selections to configure and monitor the multiplexer. You can
configure all of the multiplexer’s operating parameters from a local
management session.
Starting a Local
Management
Session
To start a local management session with the multiplexer, perform the
following procedure:
1. Connect a terminal or a personal computer with a terminal emulator
program to the RS-232 port on the AT-WDM02 Management Module,
using the management cable included with the AT-WDM02
Management Module.
2. Configure the terminal or terminal emulator program as follows:
❑ Terminal mode: VT100-compatible / ANSI
❑ Baud rate: 9600
❑ Data bits: 8
❑ Parity: None
❑ Stop bits: 1
❑ Flow control: None
Note
The default settings are for a DEC VT100 or ANSI terminal, or an
equivalent terminal emulation program. Once you have started a
management session, you can adjust the speed and duplex mode of
the RS-232 port. For instructions, refer to Configuring the RS-232
Port on page 35.
