17 Generating reports
HP StoreAll lets you generate reports of files stored on file systems that have Express Query enabled.
The Reporting functionality for HP StoreAll uses the Express Query database which provides fast
access to metadata without scanning the entire file system to retrieve the necessary metadata
information to generate reports. StoreAll generates reports quickly based on the size and number
of the files on the file system.
IMPORTANT:
Keep in mind the following requirements:
•
Data in reports is provided in binary (base 2), such as kibibytes (KiB), mebibytes (MiB),
gibibytes (GiB), and tebibytes (TiB).
•
Reporting requires that the target file system has Express Query enabled and metadata services
to be running, which ensures that the database and the file system is accessible.
•
Ensure that the pop-ups are enabled for the Web browser that will display the report. If pop-ups
are blocked, you can still download the generated report.
StoreAll provides the following types of reports:

generate reports containing historical

an individual file serving node.
All reports, except for Performance Statistics reports, can be generated through the CLI. For
information about generating reports through the CLI, see the
Reporting is not used to:
•
query the file tree structure.
•
provide a point-in time reflection of the file system metadata. The data in the reports are based
on freshness of the data in the Express Query database.
•
display the files from file systems. If you want to display the files, use ibrix_lookup instead.
