Full copy mode
When in full copy mode, data in a DR group pair is copied directly from the source group virtual
disk to the destination group, without using any data in the log disk. Typically, this is an automatic
event that happens when remote replication is resumed and the DR group log disk is full. See
Default maximum log size .
To control when an automatic full copy occurs, use the Auto suspend on full copy feature. This
enables you to make a replica of the destination before the full copy begins. See

Force full copy
In a forced full copy:
•
All virtual disks in the source DR group are copied; you cannot copy individual disks.
•
All host write-transactions in the DR group log are deleted.
Even when supported by the controller software, the force full copy feature is not available if
conditions in the DR group pair are not appropriate.

Home
When designated as home, the DR group is the preferred source in the DR group pair. Values are:
•
True/Yes. The DR group is the preferred source.
•
False/No. The DR group is the preferred destination.
Home group is a property that is maintained only by the replication manager.
Home configuration
When the replication manager creates a DR group pair, the home property for the source and
destination groups is set to true and false, respectively. This is called the home configuration. When
failed over from the home configuration, the home property remains unchanged.
Reverting to home
Reverting to home is an event that causes a failed over DR group pair to return to their original
roles in the home configuration.

You can change the home property using a GUI action, job command, and CLUI command.

During discovery, the replication manager automatically adds the home group property to
source and destination DR group pairs that do not have it. See resources

Use of home
The home concept is useful because the preferred source is flagged by the home property, even
if it is currently operating as the destination. This helps you to revert to home configuration easily.
Consider using home group to designate a business center for your replication activities. For
example, if your headquarters is in Chicago, you can set your Chicago DR group as home. If your
headquarters moves or becomes inoperable, you can then change home to some other location.
