8.7 Heating and Insulation
Insulation
OPTIMASS 8000
Where insulation is required a variety of materials may be used to insulate the meter. Care
must be taken not to insulate the meter above the halfway mark of the electronics support post
as illustrated.
The following points should be noted:
• Insulation should be used where the flow temperatures is greater than 100°C (212°F).
• If the flow temperature is above 150°C (302°F), we recommend using the factory supplied
option.
Repeated heating or cooling at rates greater than 30°C (86°F) per hour will reduce the opera-
tional lifespan of the meter and should be avoided.
