Example: Check use of repeater

Conclusion:

• It is not possible to use a cable length of 450 m without using a repeater.
• After 360 m (test step 2) a repeater has to be used.

Result:

• The Lenze repeater, type 2176 (cable reduction: 30 m), is used
• Calculation of the maximum cable length:

• First segment: 360 m
• Second segment: 360 m (see table

Segment cable length

( 22)

) minus 30 m (cable reduction

for a repeater)

• Max. achievable cable length with a repeater: 690 m

• The selected cable length can be implemented.
