• Connect the hose for remote filling/draining (70) as shown
in Fig. 155 .
• When connecting the hose to the connection spout (item
18 in Fig. 15 5) for reagents, the connection piece (71) must
engage with the spout with a clearly audible click.

5.4 Reagent handling 5.4.1 Filling/draining reagents
5. Operation
The following steps should only be carried out
by trained laboratory personnel, experienced
in handling reagents.
Always wear rubber gloves and safety gog-
gles when handling the reagents used in this
instrument.
Reagents used for tissue infiltration can be
both toxic and/or flammable.
When filling or draining a system bottle or
RTU-bottle, ensure that the remote fill/drain
hose is securely hooked into the external sta-
tion and is not removed until the operation is
fully completed. Finally, pressurized air is used
to clear the hose after each fill / drain so that
no dirt remains. The hose must therefore not
be taken out of the external station until this
cleaning step is complete.
• The remote draining or filling function is possible in
3.8 and 5 liter mode. - Both system bottles and RTU-bottles
can be filled or drained.
