SFP+ Slots
The four SFP+ slots on the front panel of the controller card can support
1000Mbps SFP or 10Gbps SFP+ transceivers. The slots can be used to
add high speed uplink ports to the chassis. A list of supported transceivers
is available from the Allied Telesis web site.
The SFP+ slots operate independently of the active or inactive state of a
controller card and as such forward traffic even when a controller card is
the inactive master card in a chassis with two controller cards.
Consequently, a chassis with two controller cards has eight active SFP+
slots.
Each SFP+ slot has one LED. The states of the LED are described in
Table 20.

Solid Green The transceiver has established a 10Gbps link
with a network device.
Flashing
Green The transceiver is transmitting or receiving data at
10Gbps.
Solid Amber The transceiver has established a 1000Mbps link
with a network device.
Flashing
Amber The transceiver is transmitting or receiving data at
1000Mbps.
Off The slot is empty or the transceiver has not
established a link with a network device.
