Four slots for 1000Mbps
SFP or 10Gbps SFP+
Transceivers
Supports 1000Mbps SFP or 10Gbps
SFP+ transceivers. The transceivers,
which have to be ordered separately,
function as uplink ports for the Ethernet
line cards in the chassis. For a list of
supported transceivers, refer to the Allied
Telesis web site. (The “SFP+” label above
the transceiver slots on the front panel of
the controller card is meant to indicate
support for both 1000Mbps SFP and
10Gbps SFP+ transceivers.)
Console RS-232 Port
Provides local management of the switch,
which does not require an IP address
configuration. For more information, refer
to “Console (RS-232) Port” on page 73.
NET MGMT Port
Provides the controller card with access to
your network for remote Telnet or SNMP
management and other management
functions. For more information, refer to
“NET MGMT Port” on page 74.
USB Port
Used with a USB flash memory drive for
management functions, such as storing
backup copies of the switch configuration
and transferring configurations between
switches. For more information, refer to
“USB Port” on page 77.
Reset Button
Resets the controller and Ethernet line
cards. For more information, refer to
“Reset Button” on page 78.
