Configuring the HP Server

154

Displays Given Area

When the utility is invoked with the /d FRU or /d SDR command line argument
the indicated area is displayed. If the given display function fails because of an
inability to parse the data present or hardware failure the utility will display an
error message.

Displaying FRU Areas

The FRU area represents sensors for instrumented devices in the server. The FRU
area appears in both ASCII and numeric format where appropriate. Each
displayed FRU area begins with the area’s designated name. Fields in the area
have a field name header followed by the field in either ASCII or numeric
characters. The Internal Use area appears in a 16 byte per line hex format. The
Board, Chassis, and Product FRU areas end with an End of Fields (EOF) code that
indicates the end of data. Commands based on either syntax below display
a FRU area:

frusdr –d fru [device_id] [lun] [controller]

frusdr /d fru [device_id] [lun] [controller]

NOTE

The LUN address is optional. If the LUN address is specified,
it must start with the character “L” and may only use LUN
addresses 0, 1, 2, or 3.

By default, the FRUSDR Load Utility displays the BMC FRU area. However,
you can supply device parameters with the /d FRU option to view different FRU
areas. In particular, you can specify areas for NVS_TYPE, NVS_LUN,
DEV_BUS and DEV_ADDRESS.

As an example, the following command displays the IMBDEVICE FRU area
using an L00 LUN address on controller zero:

FRUSDR /D FRU IMBDEVICE L00 00

FRU IMBDEVICE on bus FFh, IMB address 20h, LUN 00
