Response Modifier
The response modifier is applicable only to the STATUS and INQUIRE commands. It
is applied to the objects determined by the value of the hierarchy modifier.
Following are the possible values of the response modifier:
BRIEF
DSNM returns one line of status information for each object.
DETAIL
DSNM returns one line of information for each object, plus
detailed information from each object’s subsystem. This is
the same response as generated with BRIEF, plus whatever
additional details are available. If no additional details are
available, the STATUS command’s DETAIL response is the
same as the BRIEF response.
Note
DETAIL is not a supported response modifier for Tandem data communications subsystems other than
AM3270, EXPAND, SNAX, SNAXCDF, TR3271, and X25AM.
SUMMARY
DSNM returns the number of objects in each state. This
provides a summary of the objects that are up, pending,
down, undefined, and in error.
Note
Objects that are reported as unknown are included in the summary count for undefined objects. See
Section 1 “Introduction,” for a definition of the unknown object state
SUMMARY-BYOBJECT DSNM returns the number of objects in each state, listed by
object. This provides one line of status information for each
object (as with the BRIEF modifier), followed by summary
status information for each subordinate object type.
SUMMARY-BYTYPE
DSNM returns the number of objects in each state, listed by
object type. This provides summary information for each
object type.
The default response modifier is BRIEF.
Note
Because the SUMMARY, SUMMARY-BYTYPE, and SUMMARY-BYOBJECT response modifiers return
the number of subsystem objects in each object state, DSNM ignores any state modifier that
accompanies these response modifiers.
Examples
The following examples show the different types of status information that DSNM
returns, given a response modifier.
The following command returns status information for all the Pathway TCPs
controlled by manager process \LONDON.$PMUK that are either pending or down:
INQUIRE TCP * UNDER \LONDON.$PMUK, NOT-UP
