All Members of Groups
To specify all members of the group, specify the group name. For example, if PARIS is
the name of a group that consists of all SNAX and Expand lines connected to the Paris
office, you can stop them with the following command:
STOP PARIS
Selected Members of
Groups
To restrict the command to selected members of the group, use the group name with
the appropriate qualifiers. Following is the syntax for applying qualifiers to a group
name.
[
subsys] [type] [\node.]group
[UNDER [
\node.]$manager] [hierarchy-modifier]
Examples
If PARIS is the name of a group that consists of all SNAX and Expand lines connected
to the Paris office, the following command stops all SNAX lines in the group PARIS,
but not the Expand lines in the group:
STOP SNAX PARIS
If ALL-PATHWAY is a group of all Pathway objects in your network, you can start all
TCPs, terminals, and server classes in the network by entering:
START ALL-PATHWAY
However, if you want to start the server classes that are under the $PMUK manager
process, you can enter:
START SERVER ALL-PATHWAY UNDER $PMUK
The command would not start any TCPs or terminals because they are not of the
specified object type; neither would the command start server classes under another
manager process.
Qualifiers restrict DSNM from applying the command to the members of the group
that meet all the qualifications. If you specify a qualifier that does not apply to any
members of the group, the command is not carried out on any objects. For example, if
SNAX-LINES is a group of SNAX lines and does not contain any LUs, the following
command has no effect because it acts on an empty set of objects:
START LU SNAX-LINES
