Directing Comand Output
to a Printer
NetCommand enables you to redirect the output of a command from your terminal to
a device or file. The command syntax is shown in the following box:
command [/OUT location/] [remainder of command syntax]
command
is any DSNM command; for example, INFO, ABORT, and STATUS. See Section 2,
“DSNM Commands,” for information on DSNM commands.
location
is the name of a spooler, terminal, or disk file. If you include an OUT clause, the
output is redirected to the location you specify. If you specify an existing file, the
output is appended to it; if the file does not already exist, an edit file is created. If
you omit the OUT clause, the response is displayed on your terminal.
The OUT clause is not valid on the command line of the NetStatus screen.
remainder of command syntax
is the remainder of the command syntax for the DSNM command being issued; for
example, object specifications, modifiers, and parameters. See Section 2, “DSNM
Commands,” for information on DSNM command syntax.
Applying Security
Restrictions
NetCommand applies its security restrictions on commands at the time you log on.
If you are a NetCommand operator, you have access to the commands that your
system manager authorized for you. If you are using a terminal that has
command restrictions on it, the terminal restrictions might apply to you,
depending on how the security manager set up the security.
If you are not defined as a NetCommand operator, you can use only the
commands that are authorized for your current terminal and for your user and
group ID.
