STOP Command
DSNM Commands
098571 Tandem Computers Incorporated
2–35
Because each subsystem must stop its objects in a predetermined order, the ONLY
hierarchy modifier is ineffective with certain object types if their subordinate objects
are still up; that is, stopping certain object types forces their subordinates to be
stopped as well.
The STOP command is not appropriate for all object types; see Section 5,
“Subsystems,” for details.
Examples
The group T-TERMS consists of composites of type TELLER-TERM. The following
command stops the Pathway terminal components of all the members of the group
that are up:
STOP TERM T-TERMS, UP
The following command stops the PUs and LUs that are subordinate to the SNAX lines
in the group UK-SNAX. It does not stop the lines themselves.
STOP UK-SNAX, SUBONLY
The following command stops the Expand line \BERLIN.$LHF. If a subsystem error
occurs while DSNM is executing the command, DSNM does not return the subsystem
error message.
STOP \BERLIN.$LHF, ERROR-SUPPRESS
