Basic Information about DSNM
Introduction
1–4
098571 Tandem Computers Incorporated
As listed in Table 1-2, within the set of Tandem subsystems supported by DSNM,
some can be :
Controlled, queried for information, and monitored (AM3270, EXPAND,
PATHWAY, SNAX, SNAXCDF, TR3271, X25AM)
Monitored only (GUARDIAN, SPOOLER)
Controlled and queried for information (limited support for Tandem data
communications subsystems is available as an extension to DSNM in a NonStop
NET/MASTER MS operations environment. The introduction to this section
discusses the data communications subsystems supported in a standalone and
NonStop NET/MASTER MS operations environment. Table 1-2 identifies the
DSNM control and information retrieval commands that can be issued in a
NonStop NET/MASTER MS environment against data communications
subsystems other than AM 3270, Expand, SNAX/CDF, SNAX/XF, TR3271, and
X25AM.)

In a NonStop NET/MASTER MS environment, DSNM supports Tandem data communications
subsystems other than those specified in Table 1-2. See “Basic Information About DSNM,” earlier in this
section, for details.
Object States Reported by
DSNM
Each subsystem uses its own terminology to identify the various states of its objects,
which can be called subsystem states. DSNM translates these subsystem states into
one of the following three DSNM object states:
