The TACL prompt (
TACL 1>
) appears if you are not a NetCommand operator and
the terminal is not a NetCommand terminal. To obtain the NetCommand prompt,
from the TACL prompt, execute the NETCMD utility by issuing the command
shown in the following box.
[RUN] [
$volume.subvol.]NETCMD [DSNM name]
$volume.subvol
is the location of the NETCMD utility.
name
is the name of a DSNM configuration. This parameter is required only if your
node has multiple, named DSNM configurations.
Depending on how your TACL environment has been configured, you might be
able to omit the RUN keyword or the volume and subvolume location of the
utility.
Caution
Do not attempt to start NetCommand from within an OBEY command file. NetCommand is a
conversational interface that cannot be executed successfully from an OBEY command file.
If NetCommand encounters any irregularity in starting up, you must log off NetCommand. If you started
NetCommand from the TACL prompt, you might also have to issue the #LOGOFF /SEGRELEASE/
command to TACL to recover your environment.
Exiting NetCommand
You can use the EXIT command or LOGOFF command to end your NetCommand
session. The LOGOFF and EXIT commands are identical in function.
The EXIT command is shown in the following box.
EXIT
If you are defined as a NetCommand user and received the NetCommand prompt
when you logged on, you are logged off. If you are a TACL user and began your
NetCommand session with the NETCMD command, you are returned to your TACL
prompt.
The LOGOFF command is shown in the following box.
