NetCommand

Command Set

The NetCommand command set can be customized for individual network operators
and for specified systems. To find out which commands you can use, enter HELP at
the NetCommand prompt, or ask your system manager.

The standard NetCommand command set, however, includes the following
commands:

DSNM commands—described in Section 2, “Using DSNM Commands.”

LOGOFF—ends the NetCommand session.

LOGON—begins the NetCommand session.

ENV—displays information about the current NetCommand session.

HELP—displays NetCommand help.

NETSTATUS—starts NetStatus, the full-screen interface to DSNM.

OBEY—executes the commands listed in the specified command file.

SETPROMPT—changes the NetCommand prompt.

HISTORY—TACL command that displays your previously issued commands.

FC—TACL command that lets you modify a previous command and reissue it.

!—TACL command that repeats the last command you issued.

?—TACL command that displays the last command you issued.

The OBEY and SETPROMPT commands work differently in NetCommand than they
do in TACL. The SETPROMPT command is explained under “Changing the
NetCommand Prompt” presented earlier in this section, and the OBEY command is
explained under “OBEY Command.” For instructions on the other TACL commands,
refer to the TACL Reference Manual.

OBEY Command

If the OBEY command is in your NetCommand command set, you can use it to execute
commands that are stored in a command file.

\node

is the node on which the command file is located.
