Seed Hawk™ Viper Pro™ Installation & Operation Manual
The Section Control Aggressiveness factor uses the turn-on and turn-off look-ahead values to
adapt the responsiveness of the liquid control valves for different driving styles and field conditions
or layout.
Turn On Look-Ahead Seconds.
The turn on look-ahead setting allows the Viper Pro to lower soil openers
and open meter gates or liquid control valves before the section reaches an un-applied area.
•
Set the meter gate turn-on look-ahead times to compensate for the time it takes seed to get from the air cart
meter gates to the openers. This will ensure seed is going into the ground as sections enter un-applied
areas rather than priming the product lines.
•
Set the openers turn-on look-ahead to the time it takes the hydraulic system to lower the openers into the
ground. The Viper Pro will begin adjusting the openers for each section to ensure the openers are in the
proper position at the start of each swath.
•
The liquid valves turn-on look-ahead time allows the control valve to open and reach the target rate at the
same time as the section enters the un-applied area.
Turn Off Look-Ahead Seconds.
The turn off look-ahead is the time ahead (based on current speed) which
the Viper Pro will close meter gates or liquid control valves and begin lifting openers.
•
Set the meter gate turn-off look-ahead value for the time it takes product to empty from the supply lines
when the section is toggled off. This allows the supply lines to purge product before the section crosses into
a previously applied area and avoid over seeding or application.
•
Enter the openers turn-off look-ahead for the time it takes the hydraulic system to lift the openers out of the
ground. This allows the Viper Pro to begin lifting the openers before crossing into a previously covered area
and disturbing seeded areas.
•
Set the liquid valves turn-off look-ahead time to allow the Viper Pro to close liquid control valves and shut off
liquid products before a previously covered area.
Sectional Control Override Sec
The Sectional Control Override feature allows the operator to momentarily override the SCT control status on
for previously applied areas or no-apply zones while in a job. The override feature is useful to ensure product
application in small unapplied areas near irregular headlands and previously applied areas. Enter the number
of seconds to override automatic sectional control and apply product after the master switch is toggled to the
‘OVERRIDE’ position.
Note:
The time set as the override seconds does not start until the master switch returns to the on
position. Hold the master switch in the override position to prolong the override countdown if
desired.
Turn-Off % Coverage
This value controls the percentage of the section width that must be inside a previously applied area or no-
apply area in order for the section to turn off. The default value is 80%. This would require that 80% of a section
be in a previously applied area before SCT would turn off that section.
Note:
If the value is set to 0%, the section will not turn off automatically.
