Extron Name/Descriptor field

The Extron Name/Descriptor field contains the name used as the “from”

information when the MVX Plus switcher e-mails notification of its failed or

repaired status. This descriptor can be changed to any valid name, up to 12

alphanumeric characters.

The following characters are invalid in the Extron Name/Descriptor field:

{space} + ~ , @ = ‘ [ ] { } < > ’ “ ; : | \ and ?.

Edit this field as follows:

Click in the Extron name/descriptor field. The graphic cursor becomes a text

cursor.

Edit the name as desired.

Press the Tab key on the keyboard or click in another field to exit the Extron

Name/Descriptor field.

Click the Take button to make the name change take effect.

Gateway IP address field

The Gateway IP Address field identifies the address of the gateway to the mail

server to be used if the MVX Plus switcher and the mail server are not on the same

subnet.
Valid IP addresses consist of four 1-, 2-, or 3-digit numeric octets separated by dots

(periods). Each field can be numbered from 000 through 255. Leading zeroes, up to

3 digits total per field, are optional. Values of 256 and above are invalid.
Edit this field as follows:

Click in the Gateway IP Address field. The graphic cursor becomes a text

cursor.

Edit the address as desired.

Press the Tab key on the keyboard or click in another field to exit the Gateway

IP Address field.

Click the Take button to make the address change take affect.

Subnet Mask field

The Subnet Mask field is used to determine whether the MVX Plus switcher is on

the same subnet as the controlling PC or the mail server when you are subnetting.

Connection”.

Hardware Address field

The hardware address is hardcoded in the MVX Plus switcher and cannot be

changed.
