Installation 
and Activation
Please refer to the IntelliTrack DMS Quick Start Guide for installation and 
upgrade instructions.
During IntelliTrack installation, the application and database connection is 
set. In order to use your application, the database must be properly 
attached to the application; it is also important to manage and maintain 
your database. For more information on working with the database, see 
“Verifying Database Connection” on page 406

The IntelliTrack installation CD includes a run-time (limited) version of 
Microsoft Access. The run-time version allows full use of IntelliTrack and 
all of its features, but does not allow changes to be made to the design of 
custom reports and special queries. To customize your application beyond 
the built-in features and setup options, you must install a full version of 
Microsoft Access. It is usually a good idea for end users to use the run-time 
version so that the application is not accidentally modified. For more infor-
mation, see

Note the software serial number of this product, you will need this infor-
mation during registration and activation. (Your software serial number is 
found on your product packaging.)
IntelliTrack DMS contains a license service to track your software’s regis-
tration and activation status. The license service is installed with your 
product and runs automatically. You must register and activate your soft-
ware to use the fully licensed version of your DMS software. Please have 
your product serial number available when you register and activate DMS. 
You may register and activate IntelliTrack DMS by using the license man-
ager or the website, or by calling IntelliTrack technical support. If you reg-
ister your product with the license manager, the activation process is 
automatic. If you register your product by using the IntelliTrack registra-
tion website or by calling IntelliTrack technical support, the activation pro-
cess is not automatic. With these two options, you will receive a license 
file that is used to activate your product. Please refer to your Quick Start 
Guide for more information on the registration and activation process.
