ADAMS Adult Family Set of Analyzer target values designed to simulate adult blood
pressure
ADAMS Neonate Family Set of Analyzer target values designed to simulate neonatal blood
pressure
AdjEnv Adjust Envelope is a selection on Analyzer ADAMS Adult or ADAMS
Neonate menus from which one can adjust envelope gain and shift or
draw the pressure envelope.
A to D (or A/D) converter Analog to Digital Converter. This is an electronic device or circuit that
converts analog input voltage to a number of equivalent digital output
levels.
arrhythmia Alteration in time or force of the normal heartbeat rhythm
auscultatory blood pressure
measurement Blood pressure measurement done by interpreting sounds of blood
flow (K sounds) through an artery that is surrounded by the cuff
baud rate Rate of serial transmission measured in bits per second.
bits/character The number of bits needed to define one keyboard character
blood pressure Pressure in the brachial artery at heart level.
blood pressure cycle One Analyzer blood pressure simulation, completed by deflation of
the BP cuff
BPM Beats per minute
Checklist A set of instructions performed on a piece of equipment
Checklists are generated by the Sentinel or medBase programs and
can include any medTester remote commands for the Analyzer.
Controller A device capable of controlling Analyzer operations
A medTester with Checklist or a computer with a serial port
