1.4 Electromechanical linear drive
Linear drives are used for the electric axes. These drives conĆ
vert the rotary movement of the stepping motor into a linear
movement of the slide. If the linear drives do not have an inteĆ
grated guide, an additional guide must be provided.
Two different types of guides are available:
ć axes with spindle drive, e.g. DGE(L)−...−SP
ć axes with toothed−belt drive, e.g. DGE(L)−...−ZR
Please note
The maximum length of the linear drives is determined by
technical reasons. As from a certain length, spindle drives
may only be operated at limited speed and toothed−belt
drives may only be operated with limited drive torque.
1.5 Accessories
For the positioning systems Festo offers accessories suited to
the drive packages and linear drives (see Festo delivery proĆ
gram or catalogue).
