NOTES:
•
During installation, when specifying the HTTP setup, you are prompted for the IP address
of the CMS and the path name for the RHEL installation. For example:
http://CMS-IP-addr:CMS-port/path-name
Where:
CMS-IP-addr
is the IP address of the CMS
CMS-port
is the port number of the repository web server that you specified when
you installed Insight Control for Linux. The factory default value is 60000.
path-name
is the path name of the directory containing the RHEL distribution; this
path name is relative to /opt/repository, for example, enter /os/
RHEL5U5-x64
for the full path name /opt/repository/os/
RHEL5U5–x64
.
•
For interactive installations of RHEL 4.6, RHEL 4.7, and RHEL 4.8, HP recommends changing
the default port number from 60000 to 80 as follows:
1.
Use a text editor to edit the HTTPD configuration file and comment out the following
line:
Listen 80
The HTTPD configuration file location and name depends on the OS installed on the
CMS:
— If the CMS is installed with a RHEL OS, edit the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
file.
— If the CMS is installed with a SLES OS, edit the /etc/apache2/listen.conf
file.
2.
Restart the Apache service if you have already run Options
→IC-Linux→Configure
Management Services
to start services. If services have not started yet, skip this step.
— If the CMS is installed with a RHEL OS, enter:
# /etc/init.d/httpd restart
— If the CMS is installed with a SLES OS, enter:
# /etc/init.d/apache2 startssl
3.
Use a text editor to edit the /opt/mx/icle/icle.properties file, and set the
REPOSITORY_HTTP_PORT
value to 80.
4.
Stop and restart HP SIM:
# /opt/mx/bin/mxstop
# /opt/mx/bin/mxstart
To launch an interactive RHEL installation, follow these steps:
1.
Select the following menu item from the HP Insight Control user interface:
Deploy
→Operating System→Red Hat Interactive
2.
Follow the generic OS installation procedure in
.
3.
After the installation is complete, go to the system console and manually install the PSP.
You can install the entire contents of the PSP, but at a minimum, you must install the
components listed in
, which HP SIM requires.
If you do not install these components of the PSP, you lose the ability to manage the system
with Insight Control for Linux.
