Chapter 8 Utility Reference

8.5 The dlmchkpath Utility for Checking HDLM Paths

If you install or uninstall HDLM in a multi-path configuration, the disk contents might no
longer be correct. Use the dlmchkpath utility for checking HDLM paths to make sure that
the system is in a single-path configuration. During upgrade installation or re-installation of
HDLM, the dlmchkpath utility is executed automatically. If the system is in a single-path
configuration, the dlmchkpath utility displays nothing during upgrade installation or re-
installation of HDLM. A warning dialog box appears if the system is in a multi-path
configuration.

However, when you use one of the following methods to install HDLM and the system is
determined to be a multi-path configuration, installation will terminate without displaying
any warning dialog boxes:

Upgrade installation using the unattended installation

Re-installation using the unattended installation

When the dlmchkpath utility is manually executed, a message appears as shown in the
execution example shown in section 8.5.2. This utility is in the following location:

HDLM-installation-folder\bin\dlmchkpath.exe

8.5.1 Format

dlmchkpath {-singleconnect | -h}

8.5.2 Parameters
