2.1 Devices Managed by HDLM

Devices that can and cannot be managed by HDLM are shown below. The devices that can be
managed by HDLM are called HDLM management-target devices.

Devices that HDLM can manage:

–

SCSI devices for Hitachi storage systems

–

Hitachi storage system command devices, such as Hitachi RAID Manager command
devices

–

EMC DMX series, EMC CX series, and HP EVA series

However, only the following operating systems can manage the EMC DMX series, EMC
CX series, and HP EVA series:

–

Windows Server 2003 (IA32) SP1 or later

–

Windows Server 2003 (IPF) SP1 or later

Devices that HDLM cannot manage:

–

SCSI devices other than those for Hitachi storage systems (other than the EMC DMX
series, EMC CX series, and HP EVA series)

–

Built-in disks in a host

–

Devices other than disks (tape devices, etc.)
