INTRODUCTION
Welcome
Welcome to Maple Systems’ OIT Family Operator Interface Terminals for use with
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This powerful family of operator interface terminals
was designed to provide the human-machine interface in industrial applications. This manual
explains how the OIT Family Operator Interface Terminals operate as well as how to implement
the many available features using the OITware-200 Configuration Software.
About Your Documentation
The documentation for your OIT Family Operator Interface Terminal consists of:

Installation Manual (shipped with each OIT) — Covers the installation requirements of
your specific OIT Family Operator Interface Terminal. Each member of the OIT Family
has a manual written to its unique specifications.

OIT Family Operation Manual for PLC Protocols (shipped with OITware-200) —
Covers the general operation and features of the OIT Family when using the PLC
Protocols and implementation of those features using OITware-200.

OIT Family Operation Manual for ASCII Slave Protocol (shipped with OITware-200) —
Covers the general operation and features of the OIT Family when using the ASCII Slave
Protocol.

Controller Information Sheets (shipped with OITware-200) — Covers important
information specific to each supported protocol.

OITware-200 On-line Help — Covers the operation of OITware-200.
Conventions
You will find the following typographic conventions throughout this manual.
This
Represents
bold
Characters that you must type exactly as they appear. For example, if
you are directed to type a:setup, you should type all the bold
characters exactly as they are printed.
italic
Place holders for information you must provide. For example, if you
are directed to type filename, you should type the actual name for a
file instead of the word shown in italic type.
ALL CAPITALS Directory names, file names, key names, and acronyms.
SMALL CAPS
Non-printable ASCII control characters.
KEY1 + KEY2
A plus sign (+) between key names means to press and hold down the
first key while you press the second key.
KEY1, KEY2
A comma (,) between key names means to press and release the keys
one after the other.
