Using the Real-Time Clock

(OIT3250, OIT3600, OIT4450, OIT5400 only)

The OIT3250, OIT3600, OIT4450 and OIT5400 include a real-time clock that can be used to:

Display the current time and/or date in message, recipe, alarm, or menu screens. For more

information, refer to the PLC Register Monitor Formats section in CHAPTER 4: PLC

Register Monitors.

Display a screen and set a PLC coil at a particular time during a particular day of the week,

or daily (not applicable to the OIT3600). For more information, refer to the Timer Event

section in CHAPTER 5: Displaying Stored Screens.

Print the time and/or date in the print header when printing to a serial printer (not applicable

to the OIT3600). For more information, refer to CHAPTER 9: Using a Serial Printer.

Download the time and/or date to a PLC register (not applicable to the OIT3600).

Downloading the Time and/or Date to a PLC Register

The time and/or date from the OIT’s real-time clock can be downloaded to a register in

the PLC once every minute.
To configure the OIT to download the time and/or date to the PLC:
1. From the Configuration menu, choose Timer Events Editor. The Timer Events Editor appears.
