Saves the Error Code if an error occurs.
Remark
Hardware resources for all patterns are based on pattern direction, so if pattern direction
changes, you must call this function to remove assigned resource(s), and then set direction and
all parameters. After that, call the UpdateHardwareResource function to assign resources based
on the new direction.
