Metadata

Dolby metadata contains information about the audio bit-stream including
what configuration of “programs” is being carried; for example 5.1 + 2. As
such, Dolby metadata may be used to drive an Up-Mix processor.

Metadata may be carried within Dolby signal on AES or SDI or separately on
a RS485 serial connection.

Metadata handling within the Imagestore 750 includes:

AB switching of metadata synchronously with audio AB-mix

RS485 serial metadata connections, flexible inputs and outputs

User-defined metadata presets

Internal metadata generation from selectable user-defined presets

Changing internally-generated metadata via automation

Flexible metadata internal routing, including simple passing

This is explained in the Dolby section on page 357.

Metadata Monitoring/Processing

The Imagestore 750 may route metadata from any one of its internal metadata
sources. This includes using user-defined metadata presets to set up the
metadata audio channel mode, parameters of which can then be modified via
automation.

Note: There is no support for dynamic processing of metadata

parameters contained within an external Dolby bit-stream.

Metadata User-Defined Presets

There are four user-defined metadata presets available in the Imagestore 750.
The metadata presets form a complete list of all metadata parameters.

There are four internal metadata sources, called “banks” or “processors”.
User-defined preset parameters can be loaded into these metadata “banks”.
